Creamy Homemade Peanut Butter 


Easy, fool proof, creamy homemade peanut butter that whips together in minutes.

This recipe is one of those I have made so many times that it’s become just like second nature. It works with all kinds of nuts, like cashews, almonds, and even sunflower seeds! Although I’ve never tried it with pecans, so if you do… Let me know how it turns out!

The ingredient amounts for this peanut butter recipe are mostly eyeballed, which means you really have to put it together as you go. But don’t worry, it’s very forgiving. It’s also very much about your preference. Some people like silky smooth peanut butter, and some like theirs more chunky.

To start out, I put about 2 cups of roasted salted peanuts in a blender. I prefer the salted kind because I like my peanut butter less on the sweet side.

Then, I puréed it for about 2 minutes. You’ll start to see the peanuts try and clump together and get pasty.

I puréed it for about 1 more minute and slowly began to stream in about 1 tsp of honey and 1 tbsp of coconut oil. You can pretty much use any type of unflavored or mild flavored oil here.

For about 2-3 more minutes I puréed it on low after I added in the oil and the honey. At this point you’ll start to see it resemble peanut butter. I scraped down the sides and blended it for about 30-60 seconds more.

And bam, you’ve got peanut butter! Make sure to store in an air tight container and keep refrigerated. Fresh peanut butter will spoil if left out.


I like to spread some on oatmeal toast and top with fresh fruit and jam! It also makes for amazing peanut butter cookies!

Homemade Peanut Butter 

Prep time: 10 minutes   Yield 10 servings

Ingredients: 

2 cups roasted salted peanuts

1-2 tsps. honey

1-3 tbsps. Mild flavored oil (I used coconut)

Directions: 

In a blender, purée 2 cups of peanuts until they just start to clump. About 3-4 minutes. Next, with the blender on low slowly stream in about 1-2 tsps. of honey depending on your preferred sweetness, and starting with 1 tbsp. Oil until desired consistency. Purée for another 3 minutes until smooth. Spread on toast or use for your favorite recipes! Enjoy!
